Case Study 2: DFL

Case study 2 : DFL

David was what the locals call a ‘DFL.’ He has subsequently learned that this stands for ‘Down from London.’
When he first visited Folkestone, he was struck by the magnificence and grandeur of the buildings, the calmness of the Leas, the proximity to the sea. Not to mention the house prices!
...
David planned to make the most of the high speed rail link and invest in this beautiful old town. But where to buy? He knew a few street names his friends had told him about, but could he really be sure of the area?
He wanted to know what day the bin men came, where he could have a nice pint of ale by a roaring fire, whether there were any gangs of children hanging around where he was buying.
The N.A.C. provided by Kent Investigations was perfect for Dave. He told them exactly the information he wanted and within a few days, they provided him with his report. For the cost of moving home, the small fee he paid was well worth it.
Now he could rest assured his move ‘DFL,’ was going to be a total success!

Case Study 1: The Yappy Dog

Jolene couldn’t wait for her big move. She had finally saved up for the deposit she needed and was moving in with her partner, John.
She couldn’t believe how stressful moving was! She had rented a few times previously, at university for instance, but spent most of her time at home with her parents. However, most of the stressful stuff had been done – surveys, solicitor’s fees, understanding her new lease. She was nearly there now and could look for
...ward to her new home.
Jolene was moving to the nice part of town. She was lucky, as she had grown up in Folkestone and knew the roads and areas she wanted to live in. Luckily, she had found her property, slap bang in the middle of her favourite area in the West End of Folkestone. Nothing could go wrong for her now, right?
What Jolene and John were not aware of was that in the property downstairs, there is an elderly lady with two small dogs. One of the dogs is quite old and is no problem, but the second dog, is extremely yappy and noisy. It is a friendly dog, but due to her neighbour’s carers arriving at 7.15am every morning, the dogs wake up and the barking begins around 6.45am.
The barking occurs regularly throughout the day. Unfortunately, due to Jolene’s neighbour’s age, she is unable to get to the dog to stop it barking effectively.
John has sent a number of letters and had discussions with the neighbour. This has caused a frosty atmosphere between the two households. They have even tried to get the council involved with the issue but unfortunately they are so stretched, nothing can be done.
If only Jolene and John had contacted Kent Investigations for an N.A.C, (a Neighbourhood and Area Check). They would have known about the situation with the dogs and could have done something about it before they moved.
For a reasonable fee, Kent Investigations can help you find the information you need about your new property and area. Make sure your dream move doesn’t become a nightmare like Jolene and John – contact Kent Investigations today.
